Each child size life jacket must be stowed in a location that is appropriately marked and separated from adult life jackets so the child size life jackets are not mistaken for adult life jackets.
Child life jackets were found stored in the same location as adult life jackets. Separate child life jackets and mark the stowage location of the child life jackets.

At least one ring life buoy must be fitted with a lifeline. If more than one ring life buoy is carried, at least one must not have a lifeline attached. Each lifeline on a ring life buoy must: be buoyant, be of at least 18.3 meters (60 feet) in length, be non-kinking, have a diameter of at least 7.9 millimeters ( 5/16 inch), have a breaking strength of at least 5 kilonewtons (1,124 pounds), and be of a dark color if synthetic, or of a type certified to be resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light.
The ring life buoy was found with incorrect lifeline specs and was not 60' in length.

Installation of seats must provide for ready escape. Seats, including fixed, temporary, or portable seats, must be arranged as follows: An aisle of not more than 4.572 meters (15 feet) in overall length must be not less than 610 millimeters (24 inches) in width. Only one means of escape is required from a space where: The space has a deck area less than 30 square meters (322 square feet).
Initial construction of the vessel provided a permanently fixed stool seat in front and behind of the permanently mounted table located centerline. The aisle space between the passenger seats and the fixed stool seat was found to be less than 24 inches in width.
One fixed stool seat shall be removed to provide the one means of escape from passenger seating. The owner elected to remove the forward stool seat.

Repairs or alterations to the hull, machinery, or equipment that affect the safety of the vessel must not be made without the approval of the cognizant OCMI, except during an emergency. Repairs or alterations that affect the safety of the vessel include, but are not limited to: damage repair or replacement, other than replacement in kind, of electrical wiring. The owner or managing operator shall submit drawings, sketches, or written specifications describing the details of any proposed alterations to the cognizant OCMI.
Marine inspector identified the installation of new unapproved 16 AWG lighting conductors and unapproved overcurrent protection (blade fuses) without plan approval.
Remove the conductors or submit new plans MSC for approval.

Except as otherwise provided in this section every vessel must be fitted with a suitable magnetic compass designed for marine use, to be mounted at the primary operating station. Except on a vessel limited to daytime operations, the compass must be illuminated.
The vessel was constructed without a magnetic compass and is authorized long voyages on LBS route.
