Whenever damage or deterioration to hull plating or structural members that may affect the seaworthiness of a vessel is discovered or suspected, the cognizant OCMI may conduct an internal structural examination in any affected space including fuel tanks, and may require the vessel to be drydocked or taken out of service to assess the extent of the damage, and to effect permanent repairs. The vessel has pitting on the portside forward compartment. Temporary repair using epoxy was approved.

The lanyard was spliced to the life ring buoy.

The spaces with the high level alarms are located below passenger seating areas and not easily accessible during normal operations. The high level alarms are situated at least 2 ft above the bilge. Lower alarms closer to bottom of bilge for more immediate notification of water ingress.

A vessel must comply with the structural design requirements of; Aluminum hull vessels: For a vessel of not more than 30.5 meters (100 feet) in length: ABS Steel Vessel Rules (<61 Meters), with the appropriate conversions from the ABS Aluminum Vessel Rules. Found approximately six pinhole penetrations surrounding the through-hull fitting for the outboard engine controls, on both port and starboard hulls on the transom. Temporarily repaired as of 22AUG22. Make permanent repair prior to next dry-dock/hull exam. 46 CFR 177.300(d)(1)(ii) - 705c
