Towing vessels of more than 65 feet in length must carry one 40-B portable fire extinguisher fitted in the engine room for each 1000 brake horsepower of the main engines. The vessel is required to have six portable extinguishers in the engine room. Three of the six extinguishers were not rated at 40-B or above. Acquire three appropriately sized extinguishers and properly install in the engine room.

Each towing vessel operating north of lat. 32 degress North or south of lat. 32 degrees south must carry at least one appropriate-size immersion suit for each person onboard plus the additional immersion suits required in 46 CFR 141.350 (a)(2). Vessel is required to have 12 immersion suits. Immersion suits are not on-board. Vessel is restricted from operating north of lat 32 north or south of lat. 32 south.
