Openings shall be provided with permanently attached means of closing which shall be at least as effective for resisting fires as the divisions in which they are fitted. PSCO observed fire door 18.5.05 and 18.5.03 found within the spa ajar and unable to close. The spa was currently closed with no staff visible, and both doors (at least one storing nail polish) had their deadbolts open to prevent door closure.

Such means shall consist of a door-latching mechanism incorperating a device that releases the latch upon the application of a force in the escape flow. PSCO observed Sanctuary Club main entrance decorative door equipped with a locking device that prevents the release of the latch when pressure is applied to the releasing device.

Not be equipped with any locking device, set screw or other arrangements that prevents the release of the latch when pressure is applied to the releasing device. PSCOs observed thumb lock on deck 8 glass dome theatre doors leading out to the open deck, which is an emergency exit.
