Openings shall be provided with permanently attached means of closing which shall be at least as effective for resisting fires as the divisions in which they are fitted. PSCO observed fire door 18.5.05 and 18.5.03 found within the spa ajar and unable to close. The spa was currently closed with no staff visible, and both doors (at least one storing nail polish) had their deadbolts open to prevent door closure.

PSCOs observed thumb lock on deck 8 glass dome theatre doors leading out to the open deck, which is an emergency exit.

Passenger ships carrying more than 36 passengers shall be equipped with an automatic sprinkler of an approved type complying with the requirements of the Fire Safety Systems Code in all control stations, accommodation and service spaces, including corridors and stairways. PSCOs observed missing ampule in one of two high pressure water mist nozzles in the sauna on Deck 6/MVZ 4.
