provision must be made for closing all supply duct cowls or scoops and exhaust duct discharge openings for a space protected by a fixed gas extinguishing system. The vent closures for the engine space have a large gap remaining when in the closed position. Make closures seal properly to the satisfaction of teh attending marine inspector.

Marine employers shall establish programs for the chemical testing for dangerous drugs on a random basis of crewmembers on inspected vessels who occupy a position, or perform the duties and functions of a position, required by the vessel's Certificate of Inspection. Each marine employer shall ensure that random drug tests conducted are unannounced. Vessel Captain is the DER; any random chemical testing for the Captain would not be random. Designate employee who is not in a safety-senstive position or disinterested third party as vessel's DER.
