The owner of a vessel shall ensure the vessel complies with the laws and regulations applicable to the vessel and that the vessel is otherwise satisfactory for the intended service. During inspection of the engine room cracked welds were identified in the vicinity of the port and starboard generator exhaust trunks. A crack was identified on the starboard side where the exhaust trunk penetrated the main deck causing water ingress. Vessel is to repair all cracks and perform non destructive testing on welds in the water tight envelope prior to departure.

Shutoff valves, installed so as to close against the fuel flow, shall be fitted in the fuel supply lines, one at the tank connection and one at the end of the fuel line to stop fuel flow when servicing accessories. The shut off valve at the tank shall be operable from outside the tank compartment. During inspection it was discovered that the emergency fuel shut valves for the port and starboard fuel tanks were altered and moved to a secondary valve, approximately 5' from the valve installed at the fuel tanks. Vessel shall alter placement of emergency fuel shut off valves to be located at the closest valve to the fuel tanks.
Vessel surpassed previous 14 day deadline issued on 835V from 09JUN2020 inspection. Vessel did not communicate needs for any additional time needed for correction of issued deficiency above. Additionally, vessel representative stated they will not fix until they "decide to pull out for service". The decision to not correct the issued deficiency shows the company is not proactively managing the potential fire hazard identified onboard. Vessel may not move from its present location or operate any machinery onboard until corrected. Vessel shall schedule a deficiency check
inspection when corrections are made to ensure on site verification is completed to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector. 46CFR182.20-40(b)(3)
