Passeneger ships carrying more than 36 passengers shall be equipped with an automatic sprinkler of the fire safety systems code in all control stations, accomodation and service spaces, including corridors and stairways. FSS Code Ch8.2.4.2.5 a gauge indicating the pressure in the system shall be provided at eah section stop valve and a central station. PSCO observed section valve HLA62 pressure gauge was inoperable.

A fixed fire-extinguishing system, required by this chapter shall comply with the provisions of the Fire Safety Systems Code. Saunas shall be fitted with a dry pipe system, with sprinkler heads having an operating temperature up to 140 degrees. Male sauna was found with a sprinkler head with an empty liquid bulb.

Main and emergency switchboards shall be so arranged to give easy access as may be needed to apparatus and equipment, with out danger to personnel. The sides, rear, and where necessary, the front of the switchboards shall be shall be suitably guarded. Where necessary, nonconducting mats or gratting shall be provided at the front and rear of switchboards. Nonconductive matting was missing from the rear of the switchboard on deck 2 - aft switchboard room where personnel had access.
