Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons onboard under normal and emergency conditions.
The ITV SENDALU's main engines flooded with water through the exhaust stacks due to heavy rain from Typhoon Sinlaku. The engineers will complete an engine oil change and fuel filter change prior to proving operation of the main engines to the attending MI.

Resolution: The engineers changed the engine oil and fuel filters. The main engines and throttle controls were tested in the presence of the MI.
Vessels described in Table 136.250 of this section that operate on the Great Lakes or outside the Boundary Lines, as set forth in 46 CFR part 7, are subject to load line requirements in subchapter E of this chapter in the following circumstances: (b) Is on a domestic voyage— (1) Seventy nine (79) feet (24 meters) or more in length and built on or after January 1, 1986. Short Term ILLC expired 11Oct2024. Vessel currently holds no valid or current ILLC. Vessel is restricted to operations within the boundary line, not to exceed 3NM from Apra Harbor, seaward of the sea buoy.
