A fixed fire detection system shall comply with the Fire Safety System Code. Detectors shall be located for optimum performance. Positions near ventilation ducts where patterns of airflow could adversely affect performance shall be avoided. Air ventilation duct is impeding the functionality of the fixed heat and smoke detectors positioned above the #2 generator. 74SOLAS(09) II-2/7.2.2 FSS Code 9.2.4.1
