Cargo, cargo units and cargo transport units carried on or under deck shall be so loaded, stowed and secured as to prevent as far as is practicable, throughout the voyage, damage or hazard to the ship and the persons on board, and loss of cargo overboard. During transit to Sector LA-LB Captain of the Port Zone, the vessel encountered heavy weather, resulting in multiple containers being lost overboard. Additionally, other containers were damaged and unsecured on deck, creating safety hazards and undetermined structural damages to the vessel. The situation poses a significant risk to the ship and its crew, rendering the vessel not fit to proceed to sea. 74 SOLAS (24) VI/5.1
