The discharge ends of fuel tank vent pipes must be fitted with removable flame screens or flame arresters. The flame screens must consist of a single screen of corrosion resistant wire of at least 30 × 30 mesh. MI observed the vessel was missing 30 x 30 mesh flame screen for the fuel tank vent pipes.

Gauges to indicate engine revolutions per minute (RPM), jacket water discharge temperature, and lubricating oil pressure must be provided for all propulsion engines installed in the vessel. The gauges must be readily visible at the operating station. MI observed the vessel did not have a lubricating oil pressure gauge on the display at the operating station.
