74SOLAS(20) VII/13.1 IGC(16) 5.5.1.2 In addition, remotely operated valves shall also be fitted, as appropriate, as part of the emergency shutdown (ESD) system the purpose of which is to stop cargo flow or leakeage in the event of emergency when cargo liquid or vapour transfer is in progress. PSCO observed cargo liquid line (L2) valve indicator on port side manifold would not inidicate valve position when valve was being remotely operated from CCR. Valve position could not be determined nor remotely operated from CCR as designed. ESD on port side mainfold teste all sat with the exception of L2. Vessel restricted from conducting cargo operations on port side manifold cargo liiquid line (L2).
