The design, materials, and construction of masts, posts, yards, booms, bowsprits, and standing rigging on a sailing vessel must be suitable for the intended service. The starboard aft lower shroud fitting cover is cracked. Replace the starboard aft lower shroud fitting cover in kind to the satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector. 46CFR177.330

The cognizant OCMI may require that a vessel and its equipment undergo any additional test or inspection deemed reasonable and necessary to determine that the vessel and its equipment are suitable for the service in which they are to be employed. Vessel does not have a sail rigging preventative maintenance plan (PMP) or a rigging information/particulars plan. Develop and submit a sail rigging preventative maintenance plan (PMP) and a rigging information/particulars plan to the attending CG Marine Inspector. 46CFR176.840

The age of the standing rigging stainless steel wire is beyond the replacement interval of heat & water salinity maximum (FL, HI, Caribbean) – 5 to 10 yrs. Replace in kind, the standing rigging stainless steel wire IAW approved sail plan dated 03MAR1992 and document in the sail rigging PMP and rigging information/particulars plan to the satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector. 46CFR177.330

Upon replacement of standing rigging stainless steel wire, for the purpose of determining that the vessel and its equipment are suitable for the service in which it is employed, provide a report from an independent third party rigging surveyor of a comprehensive inspection of the entire rigging system – aloft and at and below deck level (alow), including the integration of the rig system to the hull structure (e.g., mast steps, compression posts, beams, chain plates, anchoring points aloft and at deck. 46CFR176.840

The life ring buoy must be marked with Type II retroreflective material. The existing retroreflective material must be replaced. 46 CFR 185.604

The vessel must have at least three 2-1/2 gallon fire buckets to be easily available during an emergency. The vessel currently has 3-1/2 gallon fire buckets available. 46 CFR 181.610

Gauges to indicate engine cooling water discharge temperature and lubricating oil pressure shall be provided for all propulsion engines and located so as to be in view of the operator. Install gauge at operating station to monitor lube oil pressure for the propulsion engine. 46 CFR 182.410

Rudder shoe is damaged, repair FRP.

Operator is voluntarily reparing through-hull for MDE, raw water cooling, replace to satisfaction of Coast Guard.

Start weekly and monthly lifesaving inspection log. (46CFR185.720 and 46CFR185.722).

Repair Coast Guard marked areas of hull where FRP is damaged.

Ball valve on through-hull starboard side aft of keel no longer fully closes.
