The vessel may be deemed structurally sufficient if it has been in satisfactory service and the OCMI does not question the structure. (a) Severe corrosion of the port side shell was found in the aft corner of the engine room, near the water line. Multiple small doubler plates were present in the vicinity. One transverse frame in the vicinity was previously cropped and inserted at the deck/side shell connection with insufficient welds. Investigate the extent of corrosion and provide a repair proposal. (b) The bilges were found covered in a combination of scaling, rags, and water. Clean the bilges to permit proper inspection of the hull and internal structure.
