0610: Lifeboats: Launching and embarkation appliances complying with the requirements of section 6.1 of the LSA Code shall be provided for all survival craft and shall as far as practical, remain effective under conditions of icing. During abandon ship drill forward davit of STBD lifeboat did not release due to icing. This resulted in the lifeboat lowering at an uneven and dangerous angle.
