The Chief engineer and Second engineer stated the Oily water separator's solenoid valve malfunctioned on 12 Jun 2007 and does not work as required by MARPOL Reg 16. The vessel is restricted from the use of the Oily water separator and must provide documentation attesting to repairs from the attending classification society.
