Except as otherwise allowed by this subpart, a vessel must comply with the structural design requirements for the hull material of the vessel. Vessels forward lateral stay terminates to soft wood with fasteners going through it. Owner must replace the wood behind the fastening plate and prove the stay is secured by adequate strength, to the satisfaction of a CG marine inspector.
