"All vessels must have navigation lights that are in compliance with the applicable sections of the International and Inland Navigation Rules." Vessel's port side navigational light is inoperable. Restricted to daytime operations and can not operate during times of restricted visibility. 46CFR183.420

"... Have fittings of brass or other suitable corrosion-resistant material that comply with NFPA 1963 (incorporated by reference, see 46 CFR 175.600) or other standard specified by the Commandant." Fire hose nozzle adapter was cracked and made of plastic. 46CFR181.320(b)(3)

Each window, port hole, and its means of attachment to the hull or deck house, must be capable of withstanding the maximum load from wave and wind conditions expected due to its location on the vessel and the authorized route of the vessel. Broken window outside the wheel house on the port side. Replace window prior to October 31, 2026. 46CFR177.1020

The fixed port bilge pump shall be self-priming and may be driven off the main engine or other source of power. It shall be permanently connected to the bilge main and may also be connected to the firemain. Forepeak bilge suction found IN-OP. Repair prior to carriage of passengers. 46 CFR 182.25-10(b) OLD T

A marine employer whose vessel is involved in a casualty or incident that is, or is likely to become, a serious marine incident... shall comply with the requirements of 4.06 in subchapter A of this chapter. Provide the following documents per Drug and Alcohol Program Audit: MIS Report, 1 hour training for supervisor, alcohol/drug testing devices on board, all crew pre-employment, negative tests for 1 year. New crewman cannot work until test results are received. 46 CFR 185.212

The Coast Guard will issue a medical certificate to a mariner meeting the medical and physical standards for merchant mariners. Master must provide medical certificate as per MMC requirements.

A vessel on an oceans, coastwise, limited coastwise, or Great Lakes route must carry... Six hand red flare distress signals [and] six hand orange smoke distress signals. Vessel must provide proof of additional 3 red and 3 orange flares. Vessel is restricted to Lakes, Bays, and Sounds route until rectified. 46 CFR 180.68(a)

On a vessel of more than 19.8 meters (65 feet) in length, the public address system must be a fixed installation and be audible during normal operating conditions throughout the accommodation spaces and all other spaces normally manned by crew members. Vessel public address (PA) system disconnected in superstructure. 46 CFR 184.610

The number of life jackets marked aboard the vessel did not match the number listed on the COI. "The number and identification of the items stowed inside, and their sizes, must be marked in clearly legible letters and numbers on each container for life jackets and immersion suits..."

Grab line around ring life buoy on the upper deck was found wasted. Must be replaced. "Each item of lifesaving equipment determined by the marine inspector to not be in serviceable condition must be repaired or replaced."

Flex hose near exhaust on Starboard engine was found wasted. Hose needs to be shield from exhaust. "Protection from mechanical damage shall be specially considered. Protective covering or shields shall be installed to the satisfaction of the OCMI."

MSD discharge valve was found not secured. Discharge valve needs to be secured. "...Padlocking the seacock in the closed position..."

Extension cord under the operating station needs to be removed. "Flexible or portable cords such as SO,STO and similar types cannot be used for permanently installed wiring"

Painter line attachment around body of buoyant apparatus was found wasted. Painter line needs to be secured to buoyant apparatus. "If the life float or buoyant apparatus does not have a painter attachment fitting, a means for attaching the painter must be provided by a wire or line that:(1) Encircles the body of the device;"

Paper navigation charts were found expired. Paper charts need to be updated. "As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date:..."

EPIRB hydrostatic release was found expired. Vessel is restricted to 3NM until hydrostatic release unit is renewed. "Each disposable hydrostatic release unit must be marked with an expiration date of two years after the date on which the unit is installed."

Pre-employment testing was not provided for newest crew member. Vessel owner must provide information for pre-employment testing requirements for newest crew member. "No marine employer shall engage or employ any individual to serve as a crewmember unless the individual passes a chemical test for dangerous drugs for that employer. (b) An employer may waive a pre-employment test required for a job applicant by paragraph (a) of this section if the individual provides satisfactory evidence that he or she has:(1) Passed a chemical test for dangerous drugs, required by this part, within the previous six months with no subsequent positive drug tests during the remainder of the six-month period; or (2) During the previous 185 days been subject to a random testing program required by § 16.230 for at least 60 days and did not fail or refuse to participate in a chemical test for dangerous drugs required by this part.

The owner, managing operator, or qualified servicing facility as applicable shall conduct the following tests and inspections and tests (test required by NFPA 10) Vessel's portable extinguishers and pre-engineered fire suppression systems past servicing.

A HATCH EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER MUST BE WATERTIGHT. THE GASKET ON THE FOREPEAK HATCH WAS IN A CONDITION THAT RENDERRED IT NOT WEATHERTIGHT. 46CFR179.360(a)

Each connection to a conductor must be made within an enclosure. Place all wire connections to float switches within an enclosure.

An adult lifejacket must be carried for each person onboard the vessel. Also, a child sized lifejacket must be provided for each person carried that is smaller than the lower size limit of the adult lifejackets provided. Restricted to 11 children and 51 passengers (adult), and 3 crew. Updated to increase adult by 24. Total 75 adult pax + 3 crew.

Each survival craft must be in good working order and ready for immediate use. Life floats must be repaired IAW [name withheld] repair kit.

Vsl is broadcasting greater than expected vessel length

The vessel's pre-engineered fixed firefighting system was serviced but incorrectly placed back in service. Vessel must have servicing company place back into operational readiness and prove proper operation to a USCG Marine Inspector. 46CFR181.420(a)(4)

Provision must be made for closing all ducts for spaces protected by a fixed fire extinguishing system. Vessel must fabricate and mount closure devices in way of ducts. 46CFR182.465 (h)

The volt meter and AMP meter are inoperable during generator operation. Vessel must repair or replace. 46CFR183.200(b)/46CFR183.320(c)

Vessel needs to install blanks in the electrical panel at the entrance of the engine room to prevent an electrical shock hazard. 46CFR183.330

Vessel must provide a life jacket donning placard for each type of life jacket onboard. 46CFR185.516

Vessel must provide an updated Coast Pilot and USCG Light List. 46CFR184.420

Vessel must provide an FCC Marine Operators Permit. 47CFR80.159 (e)

Replace worn out retro tape on PFDs.

No alcohol test kits were provided onboard.

Vessel needs to have current charts and publications onboard.

Vessel must provided new life rings that are properly marked. Vessel is only required on lifering but both onboard were wasted.
