Where pressure-indicating gages are used, they must be chosen to be compatible with the pressure to be indicated. MIs observed a broken pressure gauge on the relief valve of the Air Compressor. Replace the pressure gauge with an appropriate sized gauge for the pressures to be observed.

An adult life jacket must be provided for each person carried on board a vessel. Vessel reported that they were missing 14 adult life jackets. Passenger count limited to 586.

A number of child-size life jackets equal to at least 10% of the number of persons permitted on board must be provided,

CO2 Cylinders must be maintained in accordance with NFPA Standards. CO2 Cylinders Hydrostatic testing greater than 12 Years from Stamp. Hydrostatic test all CO2 Cylinders. 46 CFR 181.400 - 701 (c)

Fire Dampeners installed in engine room with fixed fire extinguishing systems must have dampeners installed. Engine room fire dampener missing. 46 CFR 181.20-35

All electrical installations shall be to the satisfaction of the OCMI. - Remove or cap all dead end wiring in generator and engine room - Main power distribution wiring located in engine room is not properly secured and beginning to corrode on shielding. Re secure and remove corrosion. - Shaft seal bilge pump wiring is twisted together as a spice. install single run of wire or environmentally seal splice. - HP Air cond chiller No1 and No2 circuit breakers call for 100A breakers, 125 are installed. Provided original drawings or electricians report attesting the breaker requirements and install new breaker as appropriate. - Install blanking plate on distribution panel in generator room. (under AC Comp (13)) - Lighting in lazerette does not function. - Dead end wire in way of stbd rudder post. Re-install wiring. 46CFR183.01-15(a)

Vessels that carry more then 150 passengers shall meet the requirements of subchapter H for structural fire protection. Reinstall SFP in both machinery spaces where it has been removed. Provide repair plan and materials list prior to installation.

All escape hatches and other emergency exits shall be marked "Emergency Exit, Keep Clear." - Fwd escape hatch for generator space needs to be remarked, letters have been worn off. - Sign leading to fwd escape in generator space has broken off. Re-attached sign indicating route of escape.

All vessels shall be provided with no less then two avenues of escape. Top hinge on male bathroom door on 01 deck is broken. Door does not function properly and is an egress hazard. Repair door.

A DEVICE MUST BE PROVIDED TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT DOWN VENTILATION SERVING THE PROTECTED SPACE AND ENGINES THAT DRAW INTAKE AIR FROM THE PROTECTED PACE PRIOR TO RELEASE OF THE EXTINGUISHING AGENT INTO THE SPACES. MI DISCOVERED THAT THE STBD ENGINE SPACE'S VENTILATION DID NOT SHUT DOWN ONCE THE FIXED SYSTEM WAS TESTED. 46 CFR 118.410 (b)(10)

COMBUSTIBLE INSTALLATION SHALL BE USED FOR PIPE AND MACHINERY COVERING OR LAGGING WITHIN A MACHINERY SPACE. MI DISCOVERED PORTIONS IN THE ENGINE ROOM SUCH AS ABOVE THE BOILER WERE MISSING REQUIRED PORTIONS OF INSULATION. 46 CFR 116.430(a)

A VESSEL GREATER THAN 65 FEET IN LENGTH MUST CARRY A MINIMUM OF THREE LIFE BUOYSR. DISCOVERED THAT THE VESSEL CARRIED 02 LIFE BUOYS. 46 CFR 117.70(a)(3)

WITH PERMANENT TYPE CONNECTORS. SPRING CLIPS OR OTHER TEMPORARY TYPE CLAMPS ARE PROHIBITED. DISCOVERED THAT THE BATTERY CONNECTIONS WERE NOT PERMANENT TYPE CONNECTORS. 46 CFR 120.350(d)

THE STORAGE CYLINDERS FOR A FIXED FIRE SYSTEM SHALL BE ACCESSIBLE FOR INSPECTION/TO ACCESS ITS CONTROLS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. DISCOVERED THAT THE OPERATOR WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS ALL REQUIRED CONTROLS FOR THE FIXED SYSTEM. 46 CFR 118.410

EACH LIFE JACKET CARRIED MUST BE MARKED IAW 46CFR122.604. SEVERAL LIFEJACKETS HAD THE VESSEL'S PREVIOUS NAME AND/OR FADED/DETERIORATED RETRO-REFLECTIVE TAPE. 46CFR117.71(a)

T-L VESSELS SHALL BE FITTED WITH SUITABLE BILGE SUCTION STRAINERS W/NOT LESS THAN THREE TIME THE NOMINAL OPENING OF THE PIPE. THE ENGINE ROOM BILGE SUCTION STRAINER WAS WASTED TO FAILURE. 46CFR182.25-5(b) 'OLD T'

The pressure/temp relief valve on the hot water heater is directed to an open space. Install diverter pipe to safe direction. Location - generator room

Fix leaking F/O pipe in the overhead of the generator room - port side.

Prove proper operation of rescue boat/launching mechanism.

Properly terminate dead end wire in generator space.
