A vessel that is exposed to salt water more than three months in any 12 month period since the last examination must undergo a drydock examination and an internal structural at least once every two years; Vessel missed required DryDock inspection on 30APR23. 46 CFR 176.600(c)

A vessel must comply with the applicable requirements for any radio and EPIRB installations, including the requirements for a station license and installation certificates to be issued by the Federal Communications Commission, as set forth in 47 CFR part 80. Vessel’s station license was not available for Coast Guard inspection and is expired with the FCC. 46 CFR 184.502

Abandon ship and man overboard drills and training shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. Abandon ship and man overboard drills and training logs were not available for Coast Guard inspection. 46 CFR 185.520 (f)

Fire fighting drills and training shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. Fire fighting drills and training logs were not available for Coast Guard inspection. 46 CFR 185.524 (d)

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date: Charts of large enough scale to make safe navigation possible. Vessels charts were last updated in 2015. 46 CFR 184.420

When operating a vessel on a body of water where the discharge of untreated sewage is prohibited by the Environmental Protection Agency under 40 CFR 140.3, the operator must secure each Type III device in a manner which prevents discharge of sewage. Acceptable methods of securing the device include: (1) Closing each valve leading to an overboard discharge and removing the handle; (2) Padlocking each valve leading to an overboard discharge in the closed position; or (3) Using a non-releasable wire-tie to hold each valve leading to an overboard discharge in the closed position. Vessel’s Type III device was not secured in accordance with the regulations of 33 CFR 159. 33 CFR 159.7(b)

A vessel on an oceans, Coastwise or limited Coastwise route must carry,Six hand red flare distress signals approved in accordance with §160.021 and Six hand orange smoke distress signals approved in accordance with §160.037. Vessel had 3 expired smoke distress signals.

An adult life jacket must be provided for each person carried on board a vessel. Vessel is missing 2 life Jackets. Total persons on board, is reduced to 17 persons.

A vessel must carry either a first-aid kit approved under approval series 160.041 or a kit with equivalent contents and instructions. For equivalent kits, the contents must be stowed in a suitable, watertight container that is marked “First-Aid Kit”. A first-aid kit must be easily visible and readily available to the crew. Remove expired contents and replenish as needed.

All vessels must have navigation lights that are in compliance with the applicable sections of the International and Inland Navigation Rules. Prove proper operation of navigation Port and Stbd running lights.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date: Charts of large enough scale to make safe navigation possible; U.S. Coast Pilot or similar publication; Coast Guard Light List and Tide tables. Provide current tide tables for area of operation.

Electrical equipment on a vessel must be installed and maintained to: Provide services necessary for safety under normal and emergency conditions; Protect passengers, crew, other persons, and the vessel from electrical hazards, including fire, caused by or originating in electrical equipment, and electrical shock and Minimize accidental personnel contact with energized parts. Ensure breaker close out is installed in breaker panel.

The master shall conduct sufficient drills to ensure that all crew members are familiar with their duties during emergencies. Man overboard drills and Fire Fighting drills shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. The drill entry's shall include Date of the drill and training and General description of the drill scenario and training topics. Drill were conducted in presence of USCG.

Bilge pump not pumping water out of vessel. Prior to carrying passengers vessel must prove operation of the pumps to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector.

Ring bouy missing plug and retro begining to peel. Replace/repair to satisfaction of attending marine inspector.

Life float undergoing maintenance. Prior to carrying passengers must complete repairs to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

Renew steering space high water alarm.
