The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fitting shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. The vessel's boiler overboard blow down pipe had a pinhole leak and was continuously leaking water. The vessel made temporary repairs to stop the leak until permanent repairs can be made.

Resolution: The vessel replaced the pipe with the leak. MSD Victoria verified that the pipe was replaced, and conducted test to verify that the new pipe does not leak.
