During the examination of the engine room, the PSCO found multiple leaks and catch buckets throughout the engine room on various systems including purifiers and ship service generators. Additionally oil soaked rags and lagging were found throughout the engine posing a fire hazard. Provide classification report attesting to the repairs of the leaks and the cleanliness of the engine room.

Prove proper operation of the emergency generator #2 starting battery bank. The generator would start on the #1 battery bank but would not start on the #2 bank. Battery charger was positioned to trickle charge both battery banks and both should of been fully charged and capable of starting the generator.

Resolution: #2 battery bank was recharged and started the generator. In addition, master stated he has ordered new batteries to replace the #2 bank. ETR is 10NOV05, before the vessel departs Toledo.
