Drills must, as far as practicable, be conducted as if there were an actual emergency. Vessel was unable to conduct underway drills while steering repairs were in progress. Demonstrate underway drills to the satisfaction of an attending marine inspector.

The inspection for certification shall include an inspection of equipment to insure that the vessel is in satisfactory condition. CO2 system alarms and shutdowns did not function (faulty distribution valve) Repair and demonstrate to the satisfaction of an attending marine inspector.

The o/o must provide satisfactory evidence of the required servicing to the marine inspector. The remote activation for the fixed CO2 system from the bridge was tagged 2023 and the servicing report did not note it was subject to testing during it's 2024 annual testing.

The main steering gear must be capable of moving the rudder from 35 degrees on either side to 35 degrees on the other. During the dockside steering test using steering pump #2, rudder angle indicator was displaying 32-34 degrees both port and starboard.

Beacon registration is required for the EPIRB. Provided sufficient documentation attesting to the proper registration of the vessel's beacon.

The inspection shall be such as to ensure that the workmanship of all parts of the vessel and it's equipment is in all respects satisfactory for it's intended service. During the internal structural exam, MI discovered an area in way of the shaft assembly requiring further evaluation. Vessel to clean and prep the area for further evaluation and provide sufficient evidence to determine the thickness of the material in the area in question. Area appeared to be filled with an epoxy or caulk material and was then painted over. Gauging should be conducted to determine the extent of wastage prior to determining the extent of repairs necessary.

Every vessel of this section must have a radiotelephone on board capable of operation from its navigational bridge. Vessel's radios on the navigational bridge were not operational. Prove proper operation to attending USCG MI.

Each lifebuoy must be marked in block capital letters with the name of the vessel and the name of the port required to be marked on the stern of the vessel. Vessel's lifebuoy markings were either faded or left blank. Prove proper markings on all lifebuoys.

Vessel must remove/replace general alarm button on aft port side deck. It is not needed and can't be tied into the general arlarm pannel.
