At each inspection of a vessel, the owner or managing operator shall be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspections of the hull structure. Significant interior and exterior corrosion was discovered throughout the vessel. Complete the following work list items to make the vessel ready for re-inspection:
a) Sandblast entire hull to bare steel.
b) Sandblast and clean out each tank and void space, including spaces where entry is blocked by ovens or work counters.
c) Remove ballast from engine room and clean the bilge pockets.
d) Sandblast and audio gauge galley deck and forward main deck.
e) Audio gauge every 18" in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Prepare a full gauging report. Highlight areas that exceed 25% wastage.
f) Remove bulkhead facades on the upper deck for inspection.
