Immediately after addressing safety concerns, the owner, agent, master, or person in charge of a vessel involved in a marine casualty shall notify the nearest Sector Office whenever a vessel is involved in a marine casualty consisting of an occurrence materially and adversely affecting the vessel's seaworthiness or fitness for service or route. On September 13, 2019 the vessel had an allision with the pier in Erie, PA. The vessel's gangway was damaged and required repairs. Those repairs were completed without prior Coast Guard oversight. The vessel is not allowed to carry passengers until the repairs have been witnessed by an attending Coast Guard Marine Inspector.
