01 - Certificates & Documentation › 013 - Documents › Stability Information Booklet
Issued 14 June 2023
Resolved
During an inspection on 15 March 2023 (act #7647547) it was discovered that there is a cradle to store a work boat on top of the Z-Drive spaces. It was uncertain, when asked, if this arrangement was included in calculations during the last stability test (Stability letter dated 09 November 2015). The plan “Foundation for Crew-boat on Aft Propulsion House” A 6065-2291-1 is dated 27 June 1986. The Fire & Safety Plan 0918-832-001 21 July 2015 shows a boat located on the starboard side main deck between frames 78-81, but nothing on top of the Z-Drive spaces. This was brought to the attention of the local ABS Survey who found that it was not included.
As calculations must account for the weight of all loads carried aboard the vessel and being there is no proof that the location of the work boat can be verified, the work-boat may not be carried until a new stability test is conducted and the results allow for the carriage of the work-boat.
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Resolved 26 September 2023
Resolution: Work-boat may not be carried until a new stability test is conducted and the results allow for the carriage of the work-boat
