Each ring life buoy with a waterlight must have a lanyard of at least 3-6' in length securing the waterlight around the body of the ring life buoy. The waterlight on a vessel carrying only one life buoy must be attached to the lanyard with a corrosion-resistant clip. Waterlight onboard was not approved IAW 161.010, no lanyard was provided and no corrosion-resistant clip was installed. Provide approved waterlight with proper securing devices.
