Each item of lifesaving equipment determined by the marine inspector to not be in serviceable condition must be repaired or replaced. 01 life float damaged beyond repair but still serviceable for 1 year. Replace life float prior to 2025 annual inspection. 46 CFR 176.808(b)

Each survival craft must be stowed in a way that any protective covers will not interfere with launching and embarkation. Covers secured with line around body of life float. Provide cover that does will not interfere with launching or embarkation. 46 CFR 180.130(a)(8)

In systems and applications where flexible hoses are permitted to be clamped: Double hose clamping is required where practicable. Missing double hose clamps on bilge suction and discharge. Provide double hose clamps. 46 CFR 182.410 (d) (1)

All cable and wire must be installed with metal supports spaced not more than 24 inches apart. FireBoy wiring hanging from ceiling. Provide wire support. 46 CFR 183.340 (b)(4)

Electrical equipment on a vessel must be installed and maintained to minimize accidental personnel contact with energized parts. Dead end wires found in port forward and behind bar. Remove dead end wiring and update electrical plans. 46 CFR 183.200 (c)

When operating a vessel on a body of water where the discharge of untreated sewage is prohibited, the operator must secure each Type III device in a manner which prevents discharge of sewage. Acceptable methods include - (1) closing each valve and removing the handle; (2) padlocking each valve in the closed position; (3) Using a non-releasable wire tie to hold each valve in the closed position. Vessel has type III MSD system and system was not secured to prevent discharge. Provide means of prevent discharge. 33 CFR 159.7 (c)

Strong and effective rudder stops must be provided to prevent jamming and damage to the rudder and its fittings. Starboard side steering system missing rudder stop. Provide rudder stop starboard side. 46 CFR 182.610

A means to reset devices used to automatically shut down ventilation systems and engines. Engine room Fireboy fixed system override switch does not operated as designed. 46 CFR 181.420

Sail Rigging Preventative Maintenance Plan (PMP)must be onboard vessel at all times. PMP not currently on vessel and not currently updated. Provide full rigging inventory of all old and new rigging components, inspection regime, and rigging details. Ensure to log all inspections in accordance with vessel PMP. Keep copy of PMP on board vessel at all times and submitted revised version of PMP to [name withheld]. 46 CFR 176.802

A fixed gas fire extinguishing system may protect more than one space. The quantity of extinguishing agent must be at least sufficient for the space requiring the greatest quantity as determined by the requirements of paragraphs (f)(4) and (g)(2) of this section. Engine room fixed fire extinguisher agent is inadequate due to opening between two engine rooms.

Each vessel must have permanent loading marks placed on each side of the vessel forward and aft to indicate the maximum allowable trim and amidships to indicate the maximum allowable draft. No loading mark per stability letter. Due next drydock or NLT 31OCT22.

A drydock examination conducted in compliance with §176.600 must be conducted while the vessel is hauled out of the water or placed in a drydock or slipway. During the examination all accessible parts of the vessel's underwater body and all through hull fittings, including the hull plating and planking, appendages, propellers, shafts, bearings, rudders, sea chests, sea valves, and sea strainers shall be made available for examination. The vessel was required to un-step the mast at the last drydock in accordance with NVIC 02-16. The mast was not un-stepped during the vessels October 2020 drydock. The vessel may not operate under sail till the mast has been un-step, inspected, and approved by a CG Marine Inspector.

Repairs or alterations to the hull, machinery, or equipment that affect the safety of the vessel must not be made without the approval of the cognizant OCMI, except during an emergency. When repairs are made during an emergency, the owner, managing operator, or master shall notify the OCMI as soon as practicable after such repairs or alternations are made. Repairs or alterations that affect the safety of the vessel include, but are not limited to: replacement, repair, or refastening of deck or hull planking, plating, and structural members; repair of plate or frame cracks; damage repair or replacement, other than replacement in kind, of electrical wiring, fuel lines, tanks, boilers and other pressure vessels, and steering, propulsion and power supply systems; alterations affecting stability; and repair or alteration of lifesaving, fire detecting, or fire extinguishing equipment. The vessel made temporary repairs to the the vessel's forward beam in 2014. The vessel was required to replace the beam at the last drydock. The beam was not replaced during the vessels October 2020 drydock. The vessel may not operate with passengers till the forward beam has been replaced.

Vessel’s pre-engineered fire extinguisher unit needs to emit a visual and audible indication when under power showing discharge.

Vessel needs to have visual indicators installed at the operating station to show automatic actuation of all bilge pumps.

Vessel needs to incorporate in-water emergency procedures.
