Each launching appliance and each survival craft and rescue boat on a vessel must be in good working order and ready for immediate use before the vessel leaves port and at all times when the vessel is underway. The 12 person life float was damaged in several areas where the grab lines attached to the float body, the lines attaching the floating water lights were parted,and the weak link attached to the painter was not rated for a 12 person life float. Repair or replace the 12 person life float. Any repairs must be in accordance with the manufactures instructions.
