Each hatch exposed to the weather must be watertight; except that the, the following hatches may be weathertight:(3)Each hatch on a vessel that operates only on protected waters. The main deck hatches to the engine compartment were not weathertight. Hatch coamings exhibited wastage and hatch covers lacked gaskets. Additionally, a non-weathertight access cover was improperly installed for access to the generator cooling tank cap, rendering the compartment non-weathertight. Vessel shall provide proper installation within the next 30 days to the satisfaction on the attending Marine Inspector.

An additional nameplate specifying the derated capacity shall be provided for each such generator. Generator is rated for 40 degrees Celsius with a full load rating of 60 amps, however, the setting of the circuit breaker is 60 amps, which does not derate the generator by 80%. Ensure generator is properly derated and labeled accordingly.
