MI Observed no rescue platform on the vessel with a 2.5 foot free board. Vessel should provide a proposal for rectification within 30 days, IAW the attached work instruction. 46 CFR 169.517

Each vessel certificated to operate on a limited coastwise route within three miles of land in warm water must either comply with regulation 1 or 2 or have on board a FCC Type Accepted Category 1 406 MHz EPIRB, installed to automatically float free and activate, and not be required to carry survival craft. The EPIRB was found inoperable when tested and the hydro release was found expired. Vessel is restricted to LBS routes until rectified. 46 CFR 180.205

The words “FIRE BUCKET” must be stenciled in a contrasting color on each bucket. The existing fire pump was found inoperable when tested.
