The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to process to sea without danger to ship or persons on board. During operational test of steering gear from the bridge, PSCO observed drifting ranging from 5 degrees to 20 degrees when operating in non-follow up. 74 SOLAS (20) I/11(a)

The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping system and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. PSCO observed the fuel oil line in the fuel oil manifold wrapped with oil soaked insulation on the number 1 and 2 generators, as well as oil leaks and accumulation from the main shaft seal of the number 1 and 3 generators.

0938 - Hull damage impairing seaworthiness - A repair was observed on the starboard side hull, just forward of the separation bulkhead between cargo holds 1 and 2, five feet below the waterline. The repair appears to be an inset with a puncture that was repaired with a 12 inch clad weld. Class society surveyor to attest to repair and make recommendations.
