Piping used in a vital system must: (1) Be composed of ferrous materials except when: (i) Nonmetallic piping materials are permitted by § 182.720; or (ii) Nonferrous metallic piping materials are permitted by § 182.730; and (2) If subject to a pressure of more than 1,034 kPa (150 psig), be designed, fabricated, and inspected in accordance with the principles of ANSI B 31.1 (incorporated by reference; see 46 CFR 175.600) or other standard specified by the Commandant. Piping for fire system currently leaking.

No person may intentionally drain oil or hazardous material from any source into the bilge of a vessel. Vessel has excessive oil in the bilge. 33CFR 155.770

This part contains requirements for the design, construction, installation, and operation of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, piping and pressure systems, steering apparatus, and associated safety systems. Machinery and equipment installed on each vessel must be suitable for the vessel and its operation and for the purpose intended. All machinery and equipment must be installed and maintained in such a manner as to afford adequate protection from causing fire, explosion, machinery failure, and personnel injury. Every vessel subject to Part III of Title III of the Communications Act must have a detailed inspection of the radio installation by an FCC-licensed technician in accordance with § 80.59 once every five years. The FCC-licensed technician must use the latest FCC Information Bulletin, How to Conduct an Inspection of a Small Passenger Vessel. If the ship passes the inspection, the technician will issue a Communications Act Safety Radiotelephony Certificate. Vessel has expired FCC Safety Cert. 47CFR80.903

46 CFR 182.455(b)(9): Valves for removing water or impurities from diesel fuel in water traps or strainers are permitted. These valves must be provided with caps or plugs to prevent fuel leakage. Vessel's fuel strainers were missing plugs or caps.

The equipment required for lifefloats and buoyant apparatus must meet the following specifications: The floating waterlight must be attached around the body of the life float by a 10 mm (3/8 inch) lanyard, resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light, and at least 5.5 meters (18 feet) in length. Tab attaching waterlight to lifefloat body worn beyond repair. Replace in kind. 46 CFR 180.175(f)(4)

Due to COVID-19, documents were requested for an extension of annual inspection. The following documents were not recieved: 1.Certificate of Documentation 2.FCC Station License 3.FCC Radio Safety Certificate 4.Copy of Mariners Credential (with all endorsements) 6 Documentation on quarterly drills 7.Proof of Enrollment in Drug and Alcohol Program/Consortium.

46 CFR 176.500 A vessel must undergo an annual inspection within 3 months before or after each anniversary date. Vessel is currently outside 3 month window for annual inspection due to drydocking. Shall complete annual inspection prior to carrying passengers.

46 CFR 183.350 Batteries must be mounted in trays lined with, or constructed, of a material that is resistant to damage by the electrolyte. Battery trays are severly corroded. Repair to the satisfaction of attending CG MI.

A vessel of at least 26' must be provided with individual bilge lines and bilge suctions for each watertight compartment. The lazarette bilge suction is severely corroded and requires replacement. Repair to the satisfaction of attending USCG MI.

Whenever damage or deterioration to hull plating that may affect seaworthiness of a vessel is discovered, the cognizant OCMI may require the vessel to be drydocked to effect permanent repairs. OCMI may decrease drydock exam intervals to monitor vessel's structure. Crop & renew areas with extensive pitting identified in compartments #2 and #3. Areas include hull plating that was epoxied with Interprotect 2000E. Specifically, plating approximately 3' aft of fwd bulkhead in compt #3(inboard of first set of longitudinals). Area approximately 8' aft of fwd bulkhead in compt #2 (inboard of first set of longitudinals). Plating in the vicinity of the fwd keel cooler cross connect through-hull penetrations. And plating starboard of the fwd fuel tank in compartment #3. Drydock and crop/renew shall be completed no later than 17 October 2019.
