Each tank shall be fitted with a liquid level gaging device of approved design to indicate the maximum level to which the tank may be filled with liquid. Sounding tree window serving the #2 starboard cargo tank has a damaged gasket that is allowing cargo vapors to excape into the atmosphere. Vessel is authorized to continue operating until cargo is unloaded. Repairs must be made prior to onloading any addtional cargo into the affected cargo tank. Repairs to be made within 45 days. Repairs to be made to satisfaction of attending Marine Inspector.

Each Type I and II barge hull must have a watertight weather deck. The knife edge sealing surface on the Starboard Stern Void hatch is wasted to the point that Marine Inspector is questioning the ability of the hatch to seal watertight. Vessel is required to either demonstrate that hatch is watertight by conducting an air test of the hatch in the presence of a Marine Inspector or make repairs to the hatch ring. Vessel is authorized to operate until current cargo is unloaded and vessel is able to transit to repair facility. Testing or repair must be completed prior to onloading any additional cargo. Repair to be made within 45 days.

Resolution: Hatch ring was ground down to creat smooth uniform surface and gasket was replaced. MIs witnessed air test of hatch.
Each Type I and II barge hull must have a watertight weather deck. 06 void hatch gaskets are worn and are no longer serviceable. Gaskets were replaced on the spot.
