The No.1 and No.2 S.W. pumps in main engine room, along with bilge and ballast and general service/fire pump are all leaking excessively at the gland packings. The failures of these particular seals have led to the accumulation of excessive sea water in the engine room. This presents a hazard due to the possibility of flooding in the event of further failure of packing. SOLAS 04 1/11
