66 ICLL (88 Protocol) Annex 1 Reg 16 (4)- The means for securing and maintaining weathertightness shall be to the satisfaction of the administration. The arrangement shall ensure that the tightness can be maintained in any sea condition, and for the purpose of the test, tightness shall be required. MARPOL 2011 Annex v/6.1.1- Discharge into the sea of food wastes as far as practicable from the nearest land, but not less than 12 nautical miles from the nearest land. Food wastes shall be comminuted or ground and shall be capable of passing through a screen with openings no greater than 25 mm. Food Wastes shall not be contaminated by any other garbage type. Vessel is not equipped with a comminuter and is discharging food waste within a specific area. Furthermore, paper products are mixed with food waste.
