Electrical equipment on a vessel must be installed and maintained to protect passengers, crew, other persons, and the vessel from electrical hazards, including fire, caused by or originating in electrical equipment, and electrical shock. Electrical wire found disconnected on the port side of the engine.

Each item of lifesaving equipment determined by the marine inspector to not be in serviceable condition must be repaired or replaced. Renew the grabline, lifeline, and floating waterlight line on the vessel's ring life buoy.

The discharge ends of fuel tank vent pipes must be fitted with removable flame screens or flame arresters. The flame screens must consist of a single screen of corrosion resistant wire of at least 30 × 30 mesh. The flame screens or flame arresters must be of such size and design as to prevent reduction in the net cross sectional area of the vent pipe and permit cleaning or renewal of the flame screens or arrester elements. Renew the flame screen on the fuel vent.

The deck within the hull of an open boat must drain to the bilge. Overboard drainage of the deck is not permitted. Vessel is fitted with 2 deck drains for overboard discharge. Per SECSENE-WI-DOM-05 Special Considerations for Launches, the following equivalency is allowed: Due to the protected waters in which these vessels operate, drainage overboard is permitted from a weather tight deck. The scuppers for the vessel must be fitted with non-return devices and a bilge high-level alarm must be installed beneath the weather tight deck. Install a bilge high-level alarm.

Each container of lifejackets must be marked in clearly legible letters and numbers at least 2 inches high, the number and identification of the items. Mark the quantity of lifejackets stowed in the forward compartment.

The Certificate of Inspection (COI) and Stability Letter Must be posted under glass or other suitable transparent material in a conspicuous place. As an equivalency the COI and Stability letter may be kept on board in a waterproof container. The container or binder must be made available for the crew or passengers upon request. The COI and Stability letter are not available on board the vessel as they are kept in a binder in the boathouse. Place COI and Stability letter on board vessel.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date items listed in 46 CFR 184.420 (a-b). As an equivalency due to the restricted routes of this launch, an up-to-date chartlet of the area of operation and capability to determine local tide cycles will be considered equivalent. Not available on board the vessel as they are kept in a binder in the boathouse. Place on board vessel IAW 46 CFR 184.420.

The master of the vessel must keep a written count of all passengers that embark on and disembark from the vessel. Prior to departing on a voyage the operator must communicate the total amount either verbally or in writing to shore side personnel. The total count must be available ashore at the vessel’s berthing location. As an Equivalency, The vessel operator must maintain a running count of the total number of passengers on board and communicate the total amount to shore side personnel as the passenger count changes. The vessel must be equipped with a VHF radio or other acceptable means of communication and the operator shall maintain a minimum of a 30-minute communication schedule with shore side personnel. If the vessel is equipped with VHF, the master must possess an FCC marine radio operator permit, or higher class license. After hours and on weekends the vessel does not have a means to keep track of passenger count as the shoreside base station is not manned. Provide Plan in writing to the CGMI on how you are going to meet the regulation with in the next 7 days.

Vessel is beyond the 90 window for completing its annual inspection. Conduct annual inspection prior to carriage of more than 6 passengers.

REPLACE NEWLY INSTALLED BLADE TYPE FUSES WITH APPROVED CARTRIDGE TYPE FUSES THAT ARE APPROVED UNDER REF. CITE IN SUBCHAPTER T. PRIOR TO CARRYING PASSENGERS AND TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ATTENDING MARINE INSPECTOR.

Provide chartlet on vessel showing area of operation and moorings.

Provide Log Book for vessel and log all required drills for each operator and evaluator.

Provide a means to close ventilation to engine compartment.
