Machinery and equipment installed on each vessel must be suitable for the vessel and its operation and for the purpose intended. All machinery and equipment must be installed and maintained in such a manner as to afford adequate protection from causing fire, explosion, machinery failure, and personnel injury. Vessel had unknown engine failure on P/S engines, due to overheating. Operator must supply OCMI with a third party service report of cause of the issue and a service report showing repair of both engines.

Vessel owner will contact this office in late January to schedule Sea trail inspection prior to prior to 28FEB2018.
