A vessel on a Greats Lakes route must carry 6 hand red flares and 6 hand orange smoke distress signals approved IAW subchapter Q. The vessel has 6 red and 3 orange distress signals.

Each item of a survival craft equipment must be of good quality and efficient for the purpose it is intended. The grablines on the FWD life float needs to be replaced.

A vessel must be provided with a satisfactory arrangement for draining any watertight compartment. An engine oil drain hose is impeding a bilge closure device between the aux space and engine room.

A visual indicator must be provided at the operating station to indicate when any automatic bilge pump is operating. The aft automatic bilge pump indicator is not operating when the pump comes on in auto. Repair in automatic mode.

The Coast Guard will issue a medical certificate to a mariner meeting the medical and physical standards for merchant mariners. The licensed master on the vessel has an expired medical certificate. This licensed mariner shall not act as a master or licencend position on a vessel until their medical certificate is valid.

Each fibrous glass reinforced plastic (FRP) vessel built after July 11, 1973 must have hull, structural bulkheads, deck, or deckhouses constructed with fire retardant resins laminates of which have been demonstrated to meet military specification MIL-R-21607. The original vessel file indicates the vessel was constructed with general purpose resin and met the equivalencies set forth in NVIC 8-87 to obtain certification, including installation of non-combustible panels on all boundaries that separate machinery spaces from accommodation spaces. The non-combustible panels on the engine compartment overhead are missing and/or unservicable. Line the overhead of the engine compartment with non-combustible panels or insulation approved by 46 CFR 164.009 prior to April 1, 2025 or the beginning of the vessel's 2025 operating season, whichever is first.

Ship Service generator was OOC upon attendance. Prove proper operation.

Vessels Port Main was replaced, machinery alarms were never tested. Prove proper operation of all alarms and shutdowns following CVC 17-08 as a guide.

Vessel has primary life saving onboard and had no record of conducting required inspecitons. Provide record of Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and annual inspections. 185.702,185.720, 185.722, 185.724 and 185.726
