Each life jacket, immersion suit, and ring life buoy must be marked in clearly legible block capital letters with the vessel's name. Label new life jackets with name of vessel.

Placards containing instructions for the donning and use of the life jackets aboard the vessel must be posted in conspicuous places that are regularly accessible and visible to the crew and passengers. Provide donning instructions for life jackets on vessel.

If your vessel is not operated on international voyages and does not meet the conditions in paragraph (d) of this section, it must undergo a drydock and internal structural examination as follows unless it has been approved to undergo an underwater survey (UWILD) per § 176.615 of this part:(1) A vessel that is exposed to salt water more than three months in any 12 month period since the last examination must undergo a drydock examination and an internal structural at least once every two years. Vessel missed hull exam date as indicated on COI. Credit hull exam must be issued prior to carrying passengers. Hull exam scheduled for 11Sep25.

The master and crew of a vessel will be familiar with the content of and have mounted at the operating station, emergency instructions containing the actions to be taken in the event of fire, heavy weather, or man overboard conditions. Vessel missing posted emergency instructions near operating station.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date:(1) Charts of large enough scale to make safe navigation possible;(2) U.S. Coast Pilot or similar publication;(3) Coast Guard Light List;(4) Tide tables; and(5) Current tables, or a river current publication issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or a river authority. Vessel did not have nautical publications on board.

A marine employer whose vessel is involved in a casualty or incident that is, or is likely to become, a SMI shall comply with subchapter A of 4.06. Company does not evidence have a DAPI program. 46CFR185.212

Portable extinguishers must be inspected and maintained IAW NFPA 10, which require the extinguishers be mounted w/ approved brackets. The two extinguishers are not stored utilizing the approved brackets.

At least one ring life buoy must be fitted w/ a lifeline. The lifeline is absent.

Watertight shall be attached to the lanyard with a corrosion-resistant clip. The lanyard does not have a clip attached.

A positive control shut off valve must be installed at the hull penetration for all electrical submersible bilge pumps. No valve found at hull penetration. Provide required valve.

Child size life jackets equal to at least 10% of the number of persons permitted on board must be provided. 3 of the 4 required child sized life jackets where not present or suitable for service. Provide a total of 4 child sized life jackets.

Electrical equipment exposed to the weather must be watertight. A hole was found in the operating station console that would allow water to enter the console and directly come into contact with the main distribution of the vessels electrical system. Seal hole in the operating station console.

Deck rails must be designed and constructed to withstand a point load of 91 kilograms (200 pounds) applied at any point in any direction. Rail directly behind the operating station is loose in its mounting and will not support the required weight. Make repairs to rail.

Crew training shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. The training entry shall include the following information. (1) Date of the training; and (2) General description of the training topics. No records of firefighting or man overboard drills available. Provide vessel log with properly documents drills at intervals of no greater than every 3 months.

Manual bilge pump was not available.

Center pax seat was broken and had exposed screws sticking up. Repair.

RLB was not serviceable. Renew.

Portable light at operating station was inoperable.

Vsl rep could not produce original vsl registration.

Portable bilge pump does not have sufficient length of hose to adequately dewater. Lengthen hose to satisfy dewatering requirements.

Markings are insufficient. Repair as needed to properly mark lifering.
