Lifeboats are required to be equipped by SOLAS and the LSA Code with food rations kept in airtight packaging and by SOLAS ship safety equipment certificate to accommodate a total of 25 people. Out of 50 rations, between both lifeboats, 28 rations were no longer airtight. Vessel must replace rations to satisfaction of Coast Guard prior to depart.

Class needs to attest to either a permanent repair to the piping or replace the section with a new section. This creates both a slip and bodily hazard for the crew in the overhead of the lower deck aft of the engine room.
