The brake wire on the Portside lifeboat launching arrangements has too much slack to lower the life boat with one crew member. other crew members are needed to assist in tending the loose brake wire. The brake wire is also damaged in multiple areas where the wire rests against the pulley system.

Resolution: ABS attended the vessel on behalf of CCS on 29SEP10. Class cleared deficiency as well as lower both lifeboats. Brake release wires and rollers were in good working order.
