Electronic propulsion control systems must be designed so that a loss of power to the control system does not result in increased shaft speed or propeller pitch, as per 184.620(c). A propulsion control system drawing should be submitted along with a ‘Test Protocol’ to verify this. The Test Protocol should consist of a limited QFA and DVTP, only including analysis of the loss of power to the control system. Policy Letter MSC dated 07Jun17, provided by MI.
