The materials and construction of fuel lines, including pipe, tube, and hose, must comply with the requirements of this paragraph. Vessel by passed fuel oil leak alarm for the STBD main propulsion engine by removing pipe and connecting a hose to drain in a bucket in the bilge. Bucket had approx 4-5 inches of fuel in it. Vessel to identify fuel oil leak, make repairs, reinstall fuel piping and operational test fuel oil leak alarm.
Action required: 60 - Rectify deficiencies prior to movement

Exhaust gas must not leak from the piping or any connections. Vessel currently has severe salt build up and/or exhaust leaks from both the port and stbd main engine mufflers to include the through bulkhead. Vessel to remove salt, make areas available for inspection and conduct permanent repairs to both exhaust systems as identified.

Valves for removing water or impurities from diesel fuel in water traps or strainers are permitted. These valves must be provided with caps or plugs to prevent fuel leakage. Vessel did not have a plug on the drain valve for the port SSDG racor filter.

Vessel had oil soaked rags on the steering lines in the muffler compartment.
