PSCO observed storage up to the overhead in AC space #9 behind fire screen door 031, engineer stores in vicinity of steering gear room which obstructed automatic sprinkler system from operating properly. "A" class divisions are those divisions formed by bulkheads and decks which comply with the following: they shall be constructed of steel or other equivalent material; they shall be suitably stiffened; they shall be so constructed as to be capable of preventing the passage of smoke and flame to the end of the one-hour standard fire test...the Administration may require a test of a prototype bulkhead or deck to ensure that it meets the above requirements for integrity and temperature rise. FSD 100 is missing locking mechanism leaving opening through the door. 74 SOLAS 97 II-2/3.3
