If your vessel's Certificate of Inspection is renewed less often than annually, the marine inspector must check the settings of the safety or relief valves on all pressure vessels, except cargo tanks, twice every 5 years. LOCK OUT SYSTEM WHEN SERVICING.” The reference to wintergreen scent may be omitted for carbon dioxide systems not required to have odorizing units and not equipped with such units. (3) Spaces into which carbon dioxide might migrate—“CARBON DIOXIDE GAS CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. DISCHARGE INTO NEARBY SPACE CAN COLLECT HERE. WHEN ALARM OPERATES OR WINTERGREEN SCENT IS DETECTED VACATE IMMEDIATELY.” The reference to wintergreen scent may be omitted for carbon dioxide systems not required to have odorizing units and not equipped with such units. Spaces with CO2 did not have proper markings. Create signs to the satisfaction of the marine inspector. 46 CFR 185.612(g)

Except as otherwise provided in this section, machinery and fuel tank spaces shall be separated from accommodation spaces by watertight and/or vapor tight bulkheads of double diagonal wood, marine plywood, steel plate, or equivalent construction. Multiple holes found between the engine room and accommodation space. Repair vapor tight bulkhead to the satisfaction of the marine inspector. 46 CFR 182.35-1 "OLD T"

At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification of a vessel, the owner or managing operator shall be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspections of the hull structure and its appurtenances, including... Inspection of all accessible parts of the exterior and interior of the hull, the watertight bulkheads, and weather decks. Adequate emergency lighting automatically actuated upon failure of the main lighting system shall be fitted along the line of escape in vessels having having lounge areas below the main deck. The emergency lighting for forward lounge area was inop and needed to be repaired. 46 CFR 184.30-5(a)(OLD T)

Bilge pipe piercing the collision bulkhead must be fitted with a screw down value located on the forward side of the collision bulkhead and operable from the weather deck, or, if it is readily accessible under service conditions, a screw down value without a reach rod may be fitted to the bilge line on the after side of the collision bulkhead. Location of the valve on the bilge suction manifold is too far aft; not a sufficient substitute for a remote operated valve on the weather deck. Install new reach rods to comply with regulation.

Repair door between operating station and engine room as to not allow CO2 release into manned space. - 46 CFR 181.20-35 (Old T)
