An inspection for renewal of a Certificate of Inspection
is conducted to determine if the vessel is in
satisfactory condition, fit for the service intended,
and complies with all applicable regulations. It
normally includes inspection and testing of the
structure, machinery, and equipment. The owner or
operator must conduct all tests as required by the OCMI,
and make the vessel available for all specific
inspections and drills required by subpart H of this
part. In addition, the OCMI may require the vessel to
get underway. Vessel's crew is not available off-season
for a satisfactory and sufficient inspection of the
vessel to take place. Vessel is currently not operating
under its COI. Vessel has provided drug and alcohol
program information as objective evidence to begin COI
renewal process prior to COI lapsing and will make
vessel available for inspection, with full crew, for
underway operational testing at 1000 on 23 March 2022.
