General emergency alarm signal must:(a) Be located in passenger and crew quarters areas where they can alert persons in spaces where those persons may be maintaining, repairing, or operating equipment, stowing or drawing stores or equipment, or transiting, such as public spaces, work spaces, machinery spaces, workshops, galleys, emergency firepump room, bow thruster rooms, storage areas for paint, rope, and other stores, underdeck passageways in cargo areas, steering gear rooms, windlass rooms, holds of roll-on/roll-off vessels, and, except those that are accessible only through bolted manhole covers, duct keels with valve operators; and (b) Be audible in the spaces identified in paragraph (a) of this section with all normally closed doors and accesses closed; and (c) Be installed in cabins without loudspeaker installation. Other audible devices, such as electronic alarm transducers, are permitted. Currently 15 alarm bells are not working or not working properly. Make repairs and re-schedule the quarterly inspection within 2 weeks.

46 CFR 72.05.50 Where automatic fire dampers are required, they shall be designed to operate at approximately 165 degrees F. for normal locations, and approximately 212 degrees F. for locations such as galleys. The dampers shall be so designed as to close against the anticipated draft in the duct. The damper shall be made accessible for periodic inspection by means of a hinged or bolted plate in the duct. The damper and the portion of duct containing the damper shall be constructed of at least 1/8 inch steel plate suitably stiffened. No insulation need be applied to the damper blade. Currently the damper on the 3rd deck is not operating properly and not allowing the complete zone to show Green on the control panel.

Currently the side shell fire door midship on the 2nd deck PORT side has been damaged and is not able to be closed or operated properly. Prior to operating the vessel with passengers, make proper repairs to the damaged fire door so it is closed and maintains the fire boundary. Since this door is only used while moored at the Hilton Docking facility and not used under way as an egress route the door may be made tight in a non operational way until a new door can be installed.
