Vessel is an existing vessel with a hull, or a machinery space boundary bulkhead or deck, composed of wood and must be equipped with a fixed gas fire extinguishing system, on or before March 11, 1999. Vessel has numerous ventilation openings (08) on the exterior hull just below the weather deck, openings connect to side tunnels and tunnels connect to engine room space. There are no means to secure ventilation openings in the hull that connect directly to a space protected by a fixed gas extinguishing system.
