Found the Fireboy undercharged in the engine room.

46 CFR 182.20-25(a)(3) Openings for fuel level gages, where used, shall be on the topmost surface of tanks. Tanks shall have no openings in bottoms, sides or ends except as follows:(i) The openings for the fuel supply piping is not restricted to the top of the tank. (ii) an opening fitted with threaded plug or cap may be used on the bottom of the tank for tank cleaning purposes. Vessel is currently using fuel sight glass arrangement with non fuel rated tubing that is teed in on the fuel supply. Tubing terminates at the top of the tank but is not connected to anything. Submit new arrangements for fuel level gaging to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

46 CFR 181.500(b) The minimum number of portable fire extinguishers required on vessel must not be fewer than the minimum number required by Table 181.500(b). Vessel needs an additional extinguisher, either 2:A or 40-B:C to meet requirements of COI.

46 CFR 184.610(b) On a vessel of more than 65 ft, the public address system must be a fixed installation and audible during normal operating conditions throughout the accommodation spaces and all other spaces normally manned by the crew members. Vessel had non operational public address system.

46 CFR 183.340(f) Each connection to a conductor or terminal part of a conductor must be made within an enclosure. Vessel engine room had multiple permanent conductor terminal ends not made within enclosures. Repair identified conductors to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

46 CFR 185.30-20 Remote fuel shutoff stations shall be marked in at least 1-inch letters indicating purpose of the valve and direction of operation. Relabel remote fuel shutoff valves.

46 CFR 185.604(h) Each life jacket must be marked with Type I retro-reflective material approved in 46 CFR 164.018. Repair retro-reflective material on identified life jackets.

Repairs or alterations to the hull, machinery, or equipment that affect the safety of the vessel must not be made without the approval of the cognizant OCMI, except during an emergency. Repair or replace as original hull plating and affected framing on both port and starboard sides of vessel underneath forward heads in vicinity of integral fresh water tanks. Provide repair plan proposal and gauging report to OCMI for approval prior to commencing. Repairs are to be in accordance with NVIC 7-68. Take photos of each stop and hold point for records purposes. Stop/Hold Points are as follows: 1. Crop out 2. Fit up 3. First pass & back gouge 4. Final weld & NDT

The equipment required for lifefloats must meet the following specifications: the light must be a floating waterlight approved under approval series 161.010. Starboard side float free light has an unapproved battery installed. Vessel is required lifefloats for COI lakes, bays, and sounds route during cold water months. Vessel is restricted to rivers routes. 46CFR180.175(f)(4)

Vessels described by 46 CFR 175.110(d) must submit plans to the cognizant OCMI, in accordance with 46 CFR 176.700, for the installation and use of monitoring device to ensure the wakefulness of the watchmen required in paragraph (a) of this section. Operator to make decision regarding keeping overnight passengers on COI or removing overnight passengers to gain compliance with the current regulations.

The cognizant OCMI may require that a vessel and its equipment undergo any additional test or inspection deemed reasonable and necessary to determine that the vessel and its equipment are suitable for the service in which they are to be employed. Vessel is required to unstep masts/rigs to provide a close-up visual inspection of the entire rig including the mast and mast step as well as critical attachments of shrouds and stays at both the mast and hull (chain plates) by next scheduled dry dock due on 30APR2024 in accordance with guidance from USCG NVIC 02-16. 46 CFR 176.840

Each survival craft must be stowed so that when the vessel sinks the survival craft floats free. Life floats were tied down to the top of the vessel's cabin.

Each life ring bouy must be marked with Type II retroreflective material or other standard specified by the Commandant. Retroreflective tape wasted on ring buoys; replace with appropriate approved tape to standard.

Deck rails minimum of 200 pound load limit. Port lifeline attachment shackle wasted; replace to support minimum load limit.

The marine employer must have a sufficient number of alcohol testing devices readily accessable onboard. Alcohol test strips not present; demonstrate onboard storage.

Vessel has no draft marks or loading marks as required. Mark hull with either draft marks or loading marks to the satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector within 7 days.

Vessel's over 65 ft engaged in commercial service shall have a AIS Class A. Repair AIS and show proper operation.

Spanner wrench must be provided where 1.5" firehose is required. Vessel does not have spanner wrenches.

Submit new generator documentation to the Marine Safety Center for approval of installation.

Provide documentation that service generator has been de-rated to 80% of the full load rating by a certified technician in accordance with manufactures instructions.

Vessel's fixed fire extinguishing system is not operable. A space containing propulsion machinery must be equipped with an approved fixed gas fire extinguishing system. Repair to the satisfaction of the attending Coast Guard marine inspector.

First aid kit was missing ammonia inhalents.

Your vessel must undergo an annual inspection within three months before or after your vessl's anniversary date. Vessel must complete annual inspection prior to carrying passengers.

Submit Preventative Maintenance Plan IAW NVIC 02-16 to [name withheld] for approval.

Vessel is overdue for an Annual Inspection. Vessel shall complete an Annual Inspection to the satisfaction of a marine inspector.

Provide operational pressure gauge for the installed electrical fire pump.

Provide current and or corrected navigation charts large enough for safe navigation of operation area.

Shaft log packing showed signs of excess leakage. Fix shaft log packing IAW 46 CFR 176.802(c) within 7 days.

Install light cover on overhead compartment light in foc'sle IAW 46 CFR 183.410.

Repair cracks in life floats with approved repair kit IAW 46 CFR 180.130.
